The 41st Millennium is an age of war and darkness. The Imperium is assailed from all sides, but standing between civilisation and annihilation is a warrior brotherhood. Forged through forgotten science and strengthened by duty and training, they are the Angels of Death – the Space Marines – and they were made for battle. By their heroics does Humanity endure. They are few – there are but a thousand Chapters, numbering a thousand each – yet through bravery, consummate skill and unceasing dedication, they are sufficient. Space Marines launch thunderbolt strikes into the heart of the foe, battling constantly against overwhelming odds to ensure the continued survival of Mankind itself.

Codex: Space Marines contains a wealth of background and rules – the definitive book for all Space Marines collectors. Within its pages, you’ll find:

- The Emperor’s Finest: the origin of the Space Marines, with a guide to the original Legions and their successor Chapters, a detailed breakdown of the methods, technology and rituals behind the creation of these superhuman soldiers and an explanation of how their Chapters are organised, with guides to heraldry and markings;
- Imperius Dominatus: an annotated map of the galaxy, showing the full, dreadful extent of the Cicatrix Maledictum’s reach, and the Chapter homeworlds it has cut off;
- A Brotherhood at War: a timeline featuring some of the most important battles and events in the Space Marines’ struggle against the darkness, leading up to the faint glimmer of hope that is the Indomitus Crusade;
- Chronicles of Ultramar: an in-depth guide to the Ultramarines, their homeworld Ultramar, the composition of their infamous 2nd Company, a timeline of their heroic history and a brief overview of their successor Chapters;
- Guides to the White Scars, Imperial Fists, Crimson Fists, Black Templars, Salamanders, Raven Guard and Iron Hands Chapters, with timelines of major battles, as well as descriptions and colour schemes of their successor Chapters;
- Explanations of the fighting forces available to all Space Marine Chapters including heroes, squads, vehicles and special characters.

Also included is an inspiring showcase of beautifully-painted Citadel miniatures, depicting Space Marines of every type doing battle in the colours of each founding Chapter.

  • Zoom

    Love the book but only giving 3 stars bc you can’t pinch to zoom and have it stay. Fonts are to small to read.
  • We were told that these would be updated edit* happened

    By The real Halfricanking
    I like the features of the enhanced edition (some at any rate) but this book is actually less helpful than the physical book because it never gets the updates that we were promised when the Icodexes came out. With chapter approved out and multiple FAQs and errata over the last months you think they’d keep the poster boys of the range up to date. A couple rules typos Everything primaris is the wrong point cost The inconsistency is throughout the digital codexs. Buy a physical one these flat out don’t deliver. You can at least write in a book Edit* I originally wrote this a week or two after the chapter approved update was released and was pretty unhappy with paying full price for a digital and as of then already out of date book (for matched play). This book along with all the indexes and codexes have been updated and had previous errors corrected. I probably missed a couple but I’m one guy. If they keep it up these might finally live up to what we were told they were going to be.
  • Disappointed

    By Gasbaa
    I really like the idea of the enhanced version but it needs to be accurate. 1 mistake in a link and you ruin your book. Powerfists show wrong stats and there’s a few more errors. I expected an update to fix after a couple weeks. At this point I won’t be buying anymore enhanced editions.
  • Expecting More

    By Inquisitor Blake
    In addition to what other reviewers have mentioned (lack of bike squad detail), I’m pretty dissapointed to see no Force Requisition tables. What reallty sets this apart from the Index books?
  • Easy Format with Digital Version

    By Deathwatch Captain
    I found the digital version super easy and convenient to navigate with the hyper links and table of contents. I noticed a few minor typos and the data cards for vehicles are missing many of their stats. I hope to see this updated soon so I will know how far to move and how to roll to hit. I noticed some artwork that depicted models that cannot be built with the rules on the data cards, but that doesn't bother me. Overall, very happy with this version over the hardback. Let's see those missing stat lines populate soon!
  • On bike options?

    By JeffreyKl8r
    Where are the "on bike" options? Only character to have this option is a captain...not even Khan gets a bike!!! Really?! Sorely disappointed with this...
