Description

Neil Josten is the newest addition to the Palmetto State University Exy team. He's short, he's fast, he's got a ton of potential—and he's the runaway son of the murderous crime lord known as The Butcher.

Signing a contract with the PSU Foxes is the last thing a guy like Neil should do. The team is high profile and he doesn't need sports crews broadcasting pictures of his face around the nation. His lies will hold up only so long under this kind of scrutiny and the truth will get him killed.

But Neil's not the only one with secrets on the team. One of Neil's new teammates is a friend from his old life, and Neil can't walk away from him a second time. Neil has survived the last eight years by running. Maybe he's finally found someone and something worth fighting for.

i genuinely loved this book. i have been struggling with depression for quite some time now and it has made reading a difficult task. but this book, and the rest of the series so far but i’ll no doubt be done with the second and third in no longer than five days. it’s a book and i highly recommend. everything at one point or another comes back and connects and it’s beautifully written. even better is the fact that all books in the series are complete meaning that you can hop from one to another without fear of forgetting anything important that could. connect back. it really is a great book and has helped me get my love of reading back on teach.

This book was filled with trigger warnings but it’s full of such lovable messed up characters who go through so much through out this series. I know this isn’t the perfect story and it definitely has its flaws but I will probably always love this series and the foxes 🥺

It’s been so long since I’ve read a good book, and it surprises me a little that this was a book from 2013! I’ve grown to love The Foxes like I knew them as friends. Despite all the characters having their own little world of problems, it definitely felt like a family with a new addition. I absolutely loved it and I can’t wait to start the next book! I know I’ll be sad to leave The Foxes after the 3rd book, but I’ll definitely leave with a new love and a soft heart for the team.
